The Prodigy, Keith Flint, Music, Cult Report, Keith Flint Dies

Keith Flint the front man of iconic electronic dance group ‘The Prodigy’ has passed away at the age of 49. It came as a great shock for everyone in the dance music world, when it was confirmed that he had been found dead at his home in Dumnow, Essex.

An Essex Police spokesman said:
“We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man at an address in Brook Hill, North End, just after 8.10am on Monday March 4. We attended and sadly a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Tributes and condolences are pouring in across social media to pay respect to the artist who I believe was a pioneer and one of the forefathers of drum and bass. The news comes as a big shock for The Prodigy, who in November 2018 released their latest album ‘No Tourist’ and were scheduled to go on tour this year.

The groups biggest success came from their third album The Fat Of The Land LP (1997), introducing us to iconic hits like ‘Firestarter’, ‘Breathe’, ‘Voodoo People’, and ‘Smack My Bitch Up’ to name a few. The album had two number one singles and resulted in The Prodigy winning the Best British Dance Act at the BRIT Awards in 1998. Keith Flint will definitely be missed and our condolences go out to the family and friends during this sad time.

To honor Keith’s life and pay respect, we have decided to share some of the groups songs below:

The Prodigy – Firestarter (Official Video)

The Prodigy – Breathe

The Prodigy – Smack My Bitch Up (live)

After not knowing the exact cause of death when news broke this morning, we can confirm that the groups official website posted the following:
“It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother Keith Flint who sadly took his own life over the weekend. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.”
