I remember the first time I heard this band, I was watching Deutsche Welle a German news channel and on the entertainment show, they featured the pop duo NOSOYO. The feature was based on their new album ‘Resonate’ released in 2017, and what I heard was an ear candy feast after listening to the song titled Resonate. I guess I couldn’t believe that they were a European band; perhaps I was naive and had the misconception that I expected a foreign language in terms of lyrics. However, what I heard was a great group doing it their way and their sound just felt easy on the ear to lock on. NOSOYO is a pop-duo with roots in Netherlands, Germany and Turkey, who used to be located in Amsterdam but felt that they needed a change of scenery and new place to follow their musical dreams choosing the international city of Berlin to start creating. And as they say the rest is history!
Their debut album Resonate released on 17th February 2017 in Germany and August 24 internationally was a good way to kick things off with the release of their singles ‘6 or 7 weeks’, ‘Disillusioned’, ’Old Soul and ‘Losing Time’. The band consists of two members, Donata Kramarz (Vocals + Guitar) and Daim de Rijke (Drums + Sampling), and in terms of the match, it just seems like it was meant to be. So to not hesitate, NOSOYO released their new single ‘Highness’ today as a follow up to their album Resonate and to be honest, I can’t wait to hear what they conjure up next.
